My contribution

I built a Java and Spring Boot backend covering link creation, redirects, authentication and click analytics. The project explores the boundaries between persistent data, caching and access control.

Architecture

Spring Boot exposes the API through a stateless JWT security layer. PostgreSQL is the system of record, Flyway manages schema migrations, and Redis holds redirect cache entries and atomic fixed-window rate-limit counters.

Decisions & limits

Only link owners can deactivate links or access their analytics. Click events are recorded asynchronously within the API process; a durable queue would improve delivery guarantees. Rate limiting uses fixed windows with a configurable failure policy. The repository does not claim production traffic or measured performance.

Explore the implementation

The public repository includes source code, OpenAPI setup instructions, Docker Compose, unit tests and separate Docker-backed integration tests. This is a backend project; the GitHub repository is the primary destination.
